Bobby spent six years working company side for both Allstate and Safeco in Ohio before moving to Marshalltown to pastor his wife’s home church, Center Street Baptist Church and serve as the local hospice chaplain. In 2005, he reentered the insurance industry by purchasing Koehler Insurance from Paul and Connie Koehler.

In 2010, he, along with his friend and competitor Steve Madsen chose to bid on and eventually purchase the old Security Bank Insurance book of business and combine their operations. He works primarily in the commercial insurance field, especially in schools and municipalities.

Bobby has a BA in theology from Cedarville University, a few hours short of a Master’s in Theological Studies from Grand Rapids Seminary, and an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Accounting from Wright State University. He earned his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 2012 and is a National Instructor for the National Alliance in the areas of Agency Management and Life & Health.

Away from work, Bobby and Kendall enjoy their three sons: Eric, his wife Marie, and grandson Oliver; Ryan and Austin and spending time with them, their annual family vacation to Okoboji, hanging out at the pool, traveling and playing or watching about every sport imaginable.
