Contact Melanie
Melanie is the manager of both our Prairie City and Monroe Offices and holds licenses in all lines of insurance and has earned her AFIS (Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist) Designation. She became part of the Shomo-Madsen team in 2010 when the bank agency she had worked for as an insurance agent since 2004 and a mortgage lender prior to that was purchased by Shomo-Madsen Insurance.
Melanie enjoys the challenge of assessing risk and putting together insurance policies for everyone who walks through her door, but she especially enjoys the commercial side of the business helping businesses and her farm and crop clients with an individualized plan for each and helping all of her clients with the claim process.
Melanie has a Finance degree from Drake University. She and her husband farm south of Prairie City, raise Nubian dairy goats, and love to spend time with their little blondies – six grandchildren, ages 1 to 7 years old.
